Calligraphy and Iaido Quiz Answers

None of the above are actual Chinese characters although I have tried to make them look like they are. A "dot" can represent a thrust or a strike made by the appropriate end of the sword for a particular kata. In most cases the "stroke" of the character indicates the direction and movement of the kissaki. I've tried to illustrate only the major movements of the sword. A long "stroke" indicates a cut with the sword. A short horizontal stroke indicates "Yokochiburi".

I've tried to show the sequence in which the kata is performed. Generally "perform" the kata from top to bottom and left to right. Sometimes a little imagination is required.
